This place has been here since 1977 so there's no updates made to the place but the food is good old southern cooking and the service is exceptional...

The friendliest staff ever... Who cares about the food when someone addresses you as darling, sweetheart and baby. Seriously, though, the food is excellent!

How did I live in Columbia for an entire year, eat at a restaurant right across the street and miss this place? It's small but the folks are friendly and the food is excellent, especially the biscuits with gravy. And let's not forget the thick cut bacon

The neighborhood diner is an American institution, this place lives up to it in grand style. The hospitality and food get 10 stars. I want to grow up to be like them.

I ordered from here today, and must say im disappointed...$10 for 1 piece of fish and grits.... now the serving of grits is something you give to a 3yr old wish i could post a pic.... I used my tablespoon and it took literaly 3tbsp to eat the grits. Meanwhile i did not want eggs but was still charged the whole amount. No i did not get the eggs... ...

Great home cooking!!! I went for dinner and it tasted as good as my grandma's cooking. I had the chicken fried steak, Mac and cheese, mashed potatoes and gravy and scalloped potatoes. It was piping hot and home cooked. Went back this morning for breakfast you can't get a better breakfast anywhere. Everything was cooked perfect. If you are luck enough to have Teresa (I hope I spelled that correctly) look after you she treats you like family she hasn't seen in forever. She will make you feel right at home.

The eggs benedict is excellent. Its all in the sauce! Raised my Son eating here and now my Granddaughter loves going to breakfast, and enjoys seeing everyone. Getting a Candy pop when she is leaving puts a smile on her face.

Wow was I shocked at how good this place is! I don't know if they serve lunch but their breakfast is down right amazing! They offer dine in or Togo orders and you can't go wrong either way. Staff is very friendly and welcoming. The food is always cooked fresh. It's very reasonably priced and they don't skimp on the portions. I get the big man breakfast and get a little bit of everything. It's delicious!!

This is actually a mixed review. The food is VERY good, the lady's that work there are nice, but the owner is so rude that we will not be back!!! We had a discrepancy on our bill, after a long wait the owner FINALLY came out of her office. She was not only rude, she wasn't even willing to listen to us, and she REEKED of alcohol!! (And it was only 9am!!)

Super friendly, quaint place! Folks are walking in & being called by their first names. Great service! Food was fresh & go good! Crispy hashbrowns, big flaky biscuit, eggs cooked perfectly. Large portions for a very reasonable price! This was one of the best "down home" breakfasts I've had. Will definitely return.

Compton kitchen has really good foods. Inexpensive like $1 on the scale. And good-sized portions. I highly recommend going there. Give them a try I'm sure you won't be dissatisfied!

This visit I brought my son for the first time and my daughter who already loves your food. He agreed with us! Delicious ?? and everyone is always so nice and welcoming. I post it Facebook and one friend noticed I tend to order the same thing as I cannot stop raving about your vegetable soup and huge chicken salad half of a sandwich. Only improvement is open for dinner but I figured out just buy it to take home and heat up later!!!

I had their daily special which was "Chicken Pan Pie" (like chicken pot pie). Not much chicken and I guess it was heavy on the starch. The consistency was like gelatin. The cole slaw was good. Green beans were good. There fried pork chop is good. Broccoli casserole was mediocre at best. Nice staff. Good prices.

Love stopping by for breakfast or lunch. Food and service has always been great.
